Terrible review.

They spend almost NO time “reminding or recalling” other films, obviously there are some references but it is mostly background stuff.

X-Men films are going to have large casts. It’s not called X-Man

This reviewer is a pretentious blow-hard. Wtf is “actively offensive”? & Also What? Magnetos origin is he was a Holocaust survivor. It always has been. It adds a great layer to his character. They had a scene where they went back to his origin to invoke his emotions. Makes sense to me.

Quicksilvers scene is one of the coolest sequences in film history. “Albeit” CG? Ok, um do you have another way??

“Logan” was a fine film but very one noted, which is typical of Wolverine; people want capture him, he runs away. “Apocalypse” was much more interesting with a much larger range but maybe some people just like motorcycles and explosions.

I would very much have looked forward to a sequel.

Bright. Strange. Totally earnest. That scene with the aliens looming over Metropolis while Clark chats with Lois? Pure Gunn‑quirk brilliance. It’s gloriously faithful to the comics, riotous with character cameos, and brims with that vibrant, spin-off-ready energy ⚡ A carnival of optimism in a world craving it now that is superhero movie glory!

Comment on CHIFF: The Island of Lost Girls (2022) by Brian Schmidt https://fictionmachine.com/2023/05/26/chiff-the-island-of-lost-girls-2022/comment-page-1/#comment-19501 Tue, 15 Jul 2025 19:02:14 +0000 http://fictionmachine.com/?p=15573#comment-19501 In reply to Noriene Robbins.

Hi Suzette,

I’m glad you guys liked it. The girls were pretty amazing little filmmakers and it was a fun project to do with them, and I’m glad to hear that you’re going to share it with others. The girls have three little brothers, and they want to do their own movie project, so we might have something in the pipeline. Its just one of those things that it take awhile to make because we have regular jobs (we do need to feed the girls), but we really want to do this next project. Our next film might be about a magical pinata serpent that comes alive and seeks revenge for all the pinatas that have been smashed before them. Thanks again for watching.

Brian and Ann-Marie

My granddaughter and I came across your movie this morning.
Caught our attention right away.

Was blown away finding out the girls were yours and doing the acting themselves. Unbelievable!

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie and will recommend to others.

Are you going to make more?

Sincerely, Suzette
