– Oh you’re a kid? Alien doesn’t care.
– Homeless person? Cop this.
– Pregnant women? Extremely rapey gore scene.

Bad taste aside (and it is in bad taste), I can appreciate that this is the only film where the xenos truly have no moral compass. I have no idea if this is accidental or intentional by the filmmakers. It is just something that always stood our for me.

Ok, that’s not strictly true. I just didn’t dislike it as much as I disliked the utterly ludicrous AvP, possibly because that had lowered my expectations so far that seeing this on DVD seemed an acceptable way to pass the time. With its real-world(ish) rural setting, it felt like a run-of-the-mill straight-to-video American action-horror monster movie, whereas AvP felt too much like a particularly silly big budget adaptation of a video game.
